We’re excited to spend our big day with you at one of our favourite spots in New Zealand. To facilitate your travel plans and learn more about our wedding, we hope you will find the below information handy!
Glenorchy | A small picturesque town 40-minute drive away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown. It sits at the head of Lake Wakatipu, surrounded by rivers and mountains, and plenty of trails. Its untouched wilderness is unbeatable, and you’ll figure why it posed a prime location for many Lord of the Rings scenes.
16 November 2018 | Late-spring, with average daytime temperatures of 20°C and 10-16°C in the night. As it is New Zealand after all, be prepared for rain or shine, grass, sand and a whole lot of gust.
Overview of our big day
1PM - 2PM: Guests arrive at Camp Glenorchy
2.30PM: All guests head to secret ceremony location
3PM - 4PM: Catholic Ceremony
4.30PM: Canapés back at Camp Glenorchy
6.30PM - 9PM: Dinner Reception
Merriment till late under the stars
Our Catholic ceremony involves us bride & groom entering the covenant of Holy Matrimony by exchanging vows and rings, in becoming husband and wife. Priest Fr. Jaime Lalaguna will be witnessing and celebrating this sacred ceremony.
Due to the remoteness of our ceremony location, please take note that guests will be required to self-drive to and from our secret ceremony location. After all guests have arrived at Camp Glenorchy and dropped off their belongings, we will head off in a convoy at 2.30PM!
Out of respect for Fr. Jaime and the gravity of this occasion, do ensure that all mobile devices are on silent mode during the ceremony. We have arranged for hired help to take care of the little ones for the duration of the ceremony.
Canapés followed by dinner and dancing will be at Camp Glenorchy — a state-of-the-art environmentally sustainable lodging site which also boasts New Zealand’s first Net Zero energy visitor destination.
We are bringing to us top-notch New Zealander catering company Artisan Catering to prepare your sumptuous meal with the freshest local NZ produce!
As we would very much like our guests to enjoy a carefree evening, we appreciate that you respect our wishes for the dinner reception to be an adults-only affair. As is for the duration of our ceremony, little ones will be well taken care of whilst mums and dads have their meal. Children are more than welcome to join once dinner concludes, for merriment and dancing!
Formal | Gentlemen are requested to be dressed in formal suits, and ladies in either long evening dresses or knee-length cocktail dresses.
Ladies are advised to wear thicker heels as you will be on grassy and sandy terrain. Also kindly take note that it can get very breezy in New Zealand.
We are working on having a prepare-your-own brunch at Camp Glenorchy the morning after the wedding. Open to anyone who would like to join us!
