26.3.2017, Blyde River Canyon

It was an early start. We got up before 5 to catch a flight from Cape Town to Joburg and had a 4 - 5 hour drive to prepare for our 5 day safari in the Kruger. I initially wanted to propose to her in the bush, but decided to take chance at one of my favourite places in the world - and we were rewarded.

The setup...

The setup...

The light and lack of others was perfect. We had this magical place to ourselves for quite a while. I set up my camera on the tripod to take photos every 1 second. It was an elaborate ruse to take "kissy shots" like these.

Fishing for the ring

Fishing for the ring

Bringing the ring to South Africa was a difficult decision to make, but it turned out well in the end. For most of the "kissy shots", I had to hide the bulge in my front pocket (yes I was happy to see her). But it was even more trouble taking it out!

The question...

The question...

And then I asked the question.

Time slowed down for the both of us.

From the first time I sat beside Adrianna in that German class many years ago, I kind of knew deep down it was all coming to this.

 And she said Yes!

And she said Yes!
